Duo Plaisir
Description:
The ensemble of the Duo Plaisirs was as if a pianist with four hands were playing alone, with no discrepancies, and it was an ideal duo that was close to the expressive power of the orchestra. (From the liner notes by music critic Yukiko Hagiya) All of the duet performances included here are four-hand piano versions of orchestral works by the composers, but they are impressive for the vividness and clarity with which the harmonies and rhythms are rendered, more clearly than in the original orchestral performances. I applaud the young duo for their precise and sincere approach.
