Asia
Description:
Asia achieved worldwide success during the progressive rock revival movement of the early 1980s. The super band, led by John Wetton (ex-King Crimson - U.K.), Steve Howe and Jeff Downes (ex-Yes), and Carl Palmer (ex-EL&P), took a different approach from the conventional concept of progressive rock by "combining the essence of progressive rock with pop rock in four minutes. The band's debut album, "ASIA" sold 15 million copies worldwide. After the release of their second album "Alpha," Asia will begin their "Alpha Tour," which will take them from North America to Japan, and their December 6 concert at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo will be broadcast live via satellite to the world via MTV. This concert will later be released on videotape and laserdisc. The master tape of the broadcast in North America was found, and it has been re-mastered to the best possible quality for this release.John Wetton was fired just before the show due to his alcoholism problem, and Graig Lake (ex-EL&P) joined the band. The set list on the day of the show was 13 songs including encores, and this live album contains the entire set list. This live album contains the entire set list, including encores. This live album is a rare live album of Asia, as Greg Lake left the band after this tour. Imported domestic version with bilingual booklet in English.
